Fieldwork in Photos
Fieldwork is a key part of my research, and I enjoy documenting these expeditions through photography. Below are selected images from recent campaigns in Greenland, Antarctica, Svalbard, and Iceland.
Helheim Glacier and Tasiilaq, Greenland 2025
Led ground-based radar surveys and supported additional geophysical measurements as part of a multi-institutional field campaign investigating how surface meltwater reaches the bed of Helheim Glacier, one of Greenland’s fastest-flowing outlet glaciers.

Slakbreen Glacier, Svalbard 2023
Instructor for a field-based Arctic geophysics course at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), leading student surveys and testing custom radar systems mounted on drones and ground-based platforms.
Vatnajökull Ice Cap, Iceland 2022
Ground-based and drone-mounted radar surveys conducted along the eastern portion of Iceland’s largest ice cap, focused on evaluating system performance and data quality in warm ice conditions.

Thwaites Glacier, Antarctica 2020
Deployment as part of the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration to lead radar surveys and support seismic station installation along the Eastern Shear Margin of Thwaites Glacier to examine how shear-margin dynamics influence ice flow stability. Learn more about the TIME project.

Store Glacier and Ilulissat, Greenland 2019
Geophysical field campaign investigating crevasse-scale processes and subglacial hydrology, conducted in collaboration with the RESPONDER project through the University of Cambridge, which studied how basal conditions and hydrologic networks influence the fast flow of Greenland’s outlet glaciers.
